The only photo of Gale & Poldens I have is of the fire damage back in July 1918. The photo is marked Reynolds 41 Elms Rd presumably this is the name of the photographer. I think this view is from The Grove side of the works.

The company must have started back in the 1880s or 1890s, by 1910 had quite large premises on land between Birchett Rd and the Grove opposite the old Hippodrome Theatre. I remember walking past there many a time as a kid in the 1960's and peering through the the gaps in the green painted glass to see the huge presses at work. The noise was quite something.
The company published many books and documents and the local newspaper the Aldershot News. They finally closed in 1981 and the buildings demolished and replaced with flats.

I would like some photos of the works if anyone can donate any
